We all know that a kitchen remodel can be one of the most expensive remodels in a house. With that being said, the kitchen is where many of us spend most of our time. We gather for meals, do homework, talk with friends and many other things in the kitchen. This is one of the reasons that we feel it is important to have a kitchen that feels welcoming and comfortable.
Below we are sharing a few Simple Kitchen Updates That Make a Big Impact:
- Change the handles on the kitchen cabinets.
- Update your lighting fixtures.
- New Flooring—You would be surprised at how much of a difference new flooring can do.
- Paint. Painting the walls can make a big difference. If you are really feeling crafty and want to update your cabinets, you can paint those as well.
- New valances/blinds. This isn’t something we often think about when we think about kitchen remodels, but it can make a difference in the look of the kitchen.
- New countertops. You might even consider painting your existing countertop if you really want to cut costs.
- New faucets/fixtures.
- New sink.
- New Appliances—Or used appliances that are new to you.
- Paint existing furniture or update your table/chairs, barstools.
- New Backsplash.
Obviously if you were to update all of these things at one time the price might be a lot higher than you had anticipated, however if you update one thing at a time and spread the kitchen update out a bit, you will find that it is much easier to afford the kitchen remodel you have been longing for.
We recommend you start with the things that are bothering you the most. Do you dislike those cabinet handles, or maybe you can’t stand the paint color on the walls? Start with one thing you really want to update and go from there.
Good to renew your kitchen once in a while, if you use it a lot
These are all nice ideas for updates. I was surprised at how much adding new handles and pulls changed the look of my kitchen.
