Everyone deals with stress at some point in time. Some have better ways of coping with it, while others tend to get really bogged down by it. We would like to share a few tips to handling stress.
1.) Massages. While this may sound time consuming and expensive, it really doesn’t have to be. You can purchase massage oils and lotions online and have your significant other give you a massage.
2.) Tea. If you don’t like tea then maybe you just haven’t tried the right kind. Tea can be very soothing and can really help relax you.
3.) Soak in a warm bath. Soaking in the tub can be very relaxing, especially when you add a relaxing bath oil. Not only will it give you a nice warm feeling, but it will also give you time to think about things while your muscles relax.
4.) Breathe. Often times when we are stressed we clench up and don’t take the time to breathe. Try some deep breathing. This is a very effective way to relieve stress.
5.) Lay down and think about what is causing you to feel stressed. Now, what is it you can do to change this. If you have to make a list, do it. Sometimes we don’t realize what it is that is causing the stress until we really sit down and think about it. Maybe you have too much on your plate and you don’t even realize it? Make a list of everything you have to do and try to figure out how you can effectively get it all done. I find that when I organize my life I am much less stressed. Maybe buy a planner so you can stay organized and on track?
6.) Go for a drive.
7.) Music. Try listening to relaxing music.
8.) Exercise. Exercising can put you in a better mood and make you feel better about yourself and your life. Stay active and enjoy life!
The most important tip I can give you is to figure out what is causing your stress and try to find your relaxation point. Once you have figured out what the cause is, relax yourself. Tell yourself that “You’ve got this and you can handle it”. It’s all about mind over matter. You don’t mind, so it doesn’t matter—tell yourself this. Put yourself in a happy place when the stress starts to come on. If you really love vacationing on the beach or in the mountains maybe you can think about the beach or the mountains as soon as you start to feel the stress creeping up on you.
Relax and Enjoy Life!
I have to think about some of these sometimes. I especially like the last two.
