Can you believe that 2019 is almost over already? Not only that, but 2020 is a monumental year. It’s the start of a new decade, and we want to start it off on the right foot. Now is a better time than ever to take control of your finances and live your best life possible!
Tips To Start The New Year Off The Right Way
- Line up Life Insurance– There are even plans for life insurance with no medical exam. This is an important stop to setting your family up for the future.
- Buy a Planner– Buying a planner can help you to stay more organized and well planned. This will keep you on track with goals and appointments. Stores like Hobby Lobby have great planners to choose from.
- Create a Budget– When you create a budget, you will be less likely to overspend. You can keep track of your finances and all of the money that you have going in and out at all times. Just knowing what you are spending can often help keep you on track.
- Make a Plan To Get Out of Debt– We often accumulate extra debt, especially over the holidays. It can be stressful starting a new year with a lot of new debt. Taking charge and setting up a plan to pay the debt off is a great way to start the new year off on the right foot! Dave Ramsey has free tools and resources that are a great help to get answers about paying down debt.
- De-Clutter/Get Organized– Declutter your home, car and office and start to get organized. Being organized and living a clutter free life will not only help you to feel better, but it will also allow you to save money, especially if you sell off some of the items you are no longer using.
- Start Saving Money– Even if you are only putting back a little bit of money, every little bit adds up, and by the end of the year you will be proud of yourself for the savings. It is nice to have a fund that can be used for the next holiday season, or simply for an unexpected emergency.
- Set Goals– Setting goals for the new year and then checking them off as you accomplish them can feel so darn good! Write those goals down and start tackling them into the new year!
- Take Time For Yourself– Set aside a little time each week for you to do something that is relaxing to you. We often get carried away with our busy lives and forget that we need to take time for ourselves and relax. You will feel so much better if you do this.
- Simplify Your Tech Life– This isn’t something we often think about, but taking a little time to clean out your email inbox and delete unused apps on your phone can really be helpful.
Make sure that you are taking some time for yourself to relax and recharge this year. It’s a new year and with a new year comes a new opportunity for the best you! When you are relaxed and de-stressed, you can be more productive as well.
