It’s no secret that everyone has been spending more time at home right now. Given that you may have more time on your hands, it’s only natural that you might want to start sprucing up your home. We would like to share some easy ways to spruce up your home, without breaking the bank.

Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Home

.) Start Outdoors– Add some color to your yard by planting colorful flowers and shrubs around your house. Spend a little time pulling weeds and trimming trees. This is an easy way to improve the curb appeal of your home.

.) Kitchen Updates– You don’t have to do a complete kitchen remodel to change up the look of your kitchen. You can change the color of the walls, and possibly even the cabinets. If you have dated hardware on the fronts of your cabinets you can spray paint them, or trade them in for newer, more up to date hardware. Another thing that can make a huge difference in the kitchen is the backsplash and countertop. You don’t have to get top of the line products, but even adding a high definition laminate counter top can make a big difference in the look of the kitchen.

.) Change the Look of the Living Room– Try moving your furniture around, maybe even add a fresh coat of paint to the walls. You might even consider a new throw rug, and some new photos on the walls.

.) Paint or Change Walls– You might consider painting any rooms that are feeling a bit drab. Another fun way to change up a room is by adding some accent walls with paint, or a ship lap look.

.) Improve the Lighting– You can install new light bulbs or fixtures to really change the mood of the room. You might want to make sure you are using energy efficient bulbs also, to help save you some money.

.) Plant a Garden– Many of us have always wanted to plant a garden, but haven’t found the time. Now is a great time to start planting! You can grow your own fresh herbs and vegetables right at home!

.) Clean and Organize– Now is a great time to finally tackle the list of cleaning that you have been putting off. Take the time to clean out and organize closets, cabinets, pantries and drawers throughout the house. Start in one room and once that room is finished you can move onto the next. It will also help you feel more accomplished and less stressed.

.) Curb Appeal– Painting your front door can really change up the look of the entry. You may also consider changing out the light on the front porch, adding a wreath to the front door and a welcome mat out front. If your home has shudders, make sure they are not dingy and in need of repairs- you could paint them or replace them as needed.
