Vase Crafts: From Boring to Fun

Crafts Even You Can Do!

Do you wish you had fun new decor, but you don’t want to break the bank getting it? I know the feeling and that is why I’m about to show you one way you can turn a boring vase into a fun conversation piece.

Start by purchasing a cheap vase. You can get one at your local Dollar store.

Purchase some bailing twine and a hot glue gun (don’t forget to buy the glue). The glue gun will come in handy for future crafts, and they really don’t cost that much.

Start by wrapping the twine around the vase, gluing it down as you go. (Run the glue across the twine or the vase and press the twine down on the vase on top of the glue.

Make sure the twine is tight as you go. You don’t want any of the twine to pop out or be uneven.

Continue until you get to the top of the vase. Cut the twine from the string and you are done. You can add something fun to the vase like we did!

What do you think? This was one of the simplest crafts I have ever done!

Now this one is my favorite. It’s a vase received as a gift (you know, the ones delivered to the door when you have a baby or something special like that?) What do you typically do with those vases? I was always unsure (not that I receive them all the time or anything, but I have a couple just setting in a cupboard). I pulled one out, found a star I had sitting in a drawer (you can find these in the craft store) and did the same thing I did with the first vase, only I glued the star to the outside of the twine/vase.

I love the finished product!
