Ways to be more productive

Often we can find ourselves stressed and overwhelmed by small things that could be avoided. When we sit down and take note of ways that we can be more productive, it helps take some of the added stress off and things run so much smoother.

Simple Ways to Be More Productive:

1. Make Lists– When you make a list of what you would like to accomplish, and check things off as you finish them, it gives you a great deal of satisfaction and also helps you to stay on task. Oftentimes we can get overwhelmed thinking about everything that needs done. This will help you to visualize and stay on track.

2. Set goals- Set goals that you would like to reach, that way you can reward yourself once you have hit your goals. Even if you just set small goals—like finishing a small project, or organizing something.

3. Track Your Time– It’s a good idea to see if you are spending too much time, or not enough time on a project. Keep track of the time it takes to complete projects.

4. Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help– Some tasks may be taking up too much of your time. Don’t be afraid to enlist someone to help with these time consuming tasks. This will free you up to complete more pressing things, without worrying about the other projects. You might even consider something like Pocomos pest control software if you are running a business.

5. Say NO to things that are unimportant– Far too often we will delegate time to things that simply take up time, but are not important. If you are wasting time on things that are not real important, remember that you can say no.

6. Don’t Be Afraid to Take Breaks– Sometimes all you need is a short break to clear your mind and help you focus. Don’t be afraid to take short breaks when needed. This can help keep stress levels down.

7. De-Clutter– It is much harder to stay focused and on task when things are not organized. Try to de-clutter and organize the space that you will be working in, so that you can be better focused on your work.

8. Limit Distractions– This goes hand in hand with de-clutter, however there can be other distractions, such as your cell phone, other people, television, radio. Whatever is causing a distraction from you being able to focus, should be limited or removed so that you can better focus on the task at hand.

9. Make Your Work Area Stress Free– Create an area that feels peaceful and calm to you. Let some light in so that you will not feel tired. Make sure that your seating is comfortable, if you will be sitting much. You want to make this space as stress free and enjoyable as you can so that you want to spend time in it.

10. Set a Schedule and Stick to It– If you are spending too much time on work and not enough time doing things that you enjoy, you will often become stressed causing you to be less productive in the long run. Make sure you are setting your schedule and sticking to it, giving yourself some time to enjoy other things as well.

Love this! Saying NO can be a struggle when you’re always the go, but it can really add time to your day and life. I love all these tips. Plus, I love working from lists. When I’m able to draw a line through an accomplished item, I feel empowered! Go Me!

Great tips, making lists and checking off when you finish a project is so important. Track how long it will take and set a goal and identify important tasks with colored highlighters so you can get the most important things done first.
